John leads the lab automation group and oversees the purchase and setup of new automation equipment to streamline and increase throughput for Life Edit workflows. He has 17 years of lab automation experience.
John discovered his passion for lab automation at GlaxoSmithKline while working in the heavily automated Sample Management group. This group distributed hundreds of millions of NCE small molecules in screening plates every year for use both internally and externally to GSK. This allowed John to work with almost every lab automation vendor in the screening space. After the closure of the GSK research site in Research Triangle Park, NC he started his own business as an automation consultant primarily working with startups and small biotech companies in RTP and the greater Boston area. Most recently John worked at a therapeutic protein CDMO automating cGMP assays for product safety, identification and purity.
