Tian is a protein engineering scientist in the Technology Development team at Life Edit Therapeutics. He will focus on optimizing CRISPR gene editors for therapeutic purposes.
Prior to Life Edit, Tian received his B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University where he developed strategies to understand and engineer enzyme substrate specificity.
